With Cyberpunk 2077, gamers will need 80 GB for PS4. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey sits at 45 GB. The developers of Orcs Must Die 3 have said they couldn’t be done without the size of Google Stadia!
Google Stadia subscribers, however, only need a subscription and a controller, and they can play their games anywhere that can handle Chrome Browsers and the app required for the controller.
Google has stated that their hardware can scale up to meet whatever the demand is. Even the best gaming PC in the world, with incredibly fast processor speeds, memory, and hard drives can’t beat a full on data center, especially one powered by Google. Each Stadia server will have 16 GB of RAM with x86 processors running at 2.7GHz.
And this will play nearly anywhere.
Already beating out PS4 and XBox One X by double what PS4 Pro has to offer for graphics, with PS4 coming in at 4.2 teraflops, Xbox One X coming in at 6.0, Google Stadia is looking to change the entire gaming paradigm, coming in at shopping 10.7 teraflops.
And it just gets better from there!
What This Means for Developers
After November, after everyone has played the games Stadia currently has on its roster, the sky’s the limit for new developers building anything they want.
With Google Stadia already mentioning they are working on 8k 120 FPS streaming, gamers can look forward to whatever environment at whatever graphic level the developers want to put time and effort into creating.
Want to build all of NYC down to the exact flowers in Central Park? Or the ocean? Or an entire map of the US, or even better, the world?! If you’re a game developer, now you can with Stadia!
Google Stadia is the next generation of of gaming possibilities! It’s already a replacement for traditional console gaming, and we’ll be seeing a replacement for traditional game design and development, too!
