Cyberpunk 2077 Pushed Back

Cyberpunk 2077 was announced as a Google Stadia game last year, and for a long while we have been looking forward to seeing an April release for the title. Sadly, the developers—CD Projekt Red—have now announced that the game has now been delayed, and quite considerably too; Cyberpunk 2077 will now be coming out on September 17, 2020.

However, just because the game itself has been delayed is not reason to despair. CD Projekt Red, in an interview, explained that the setting for the game (Night City) is massive, and though the game is fully playable at present, some further tweaks are still needed.

Why the Delay?

Though the delay is frustrating, it is also somewhat reassuring; the team are passionate about making sure that Cyberpunk 2077 will be as flawless as possible when it is released.

In the coming months, the team will be playtesting, fixing, and polishing the current game. In the words of Projekt Red themselves:

“We want Cyberpunk 2077 to be our crowning achievement for this generation and postponing launch will give the precious months we need to make the game perfect.”

With that being said, the gaming industry can still look forward to plenty of content regarding Cyberpunk. Updates will supposedly be made on a regular basis, and the game is still confirmed to be coming out for Google Stadia as well as for the Xbox, Playstation and PC.

When can we get Cyberpunk 2077?

Gamers who are passionate about the game will also be able to purchase a pre-order copy, and with so much to look forward to—from the world to the characters and the lore, and everything in between—it definitely seems like this would be a worthwhile game to get as a pre-order.
