A special release of The Witcher 3 could be released as early as next year. But will we get to see this iconic game as part of the Stadia store?
The Witcher is a series that has been intriguing gamers for years, ever since the original release of the first instalment in 2007. Set in a fantasy world, the series is well known for its unique theme of the player character being a monster slayer. And now, there could even be the possibility of the game making an appearance on the Google Stadia gaming platform.
What is The Witcher 3?
The Witcher 3 is a role-playing game series that has been made and developed by CD Projekt Red, and was released in 2015 after years of development and voice acting recording. The game itself is set in the fantasy world that is the Continent, which is largely characterized by being surrounded by parallel dimensions and extra-dimensional worlds.
The game features a diverse cast of characters and species, with humans cohabiting (in a somewhat hostile manner) with elves, dwarves, and monsters. It is these monsters that form the primary objective of the series, with the player character being tasked with playing as a Witcher: a specially trained monster hunter. The Witcher 3: Gameplay
The Witcher 3 takes the concepts explored in the previous 2 instalments of the Witcher franchise further. In the game, the player plays as the Witcher, Geralt of Rivia.
The game starts off with Geralt rejoining his lover, Yennefer, whom he had lost contact with for a long period of time. Furthering on from this, the player character is then tasked with a number of quests and side quests that must be completed, and the decisions that are made during the course of the game will then lead to the overall ending that is achieved.
The Witcher 3: Objectives and Quests
There are a grand total of 36 different, possible game endings that can be achieved by the player, all based upon the style of gameplay and the dialogue and plot options that the player character has chosen throughout the span of the game. During this time, the player’s primary objective is to search for his missing adopted daughter, who was in hiding from the otherworldly Wild Hunt.
In addition to the main game quest in the potentially upcoming The Witcher 3 edition, numerous different side quests can be taken up when the player pays a visit to town noticeboard, including treasure hunts and witcher contracts, whereby the character can hunt monsters. It is also possible for players to establish a romantic relationship with certain female NPCs.
Will We See Google Stadia The Witcher 3?
Though an official announcement of the game’s presence being made on Google Stadia has not yet been made, it seems highly likely to assume that we will get the chance to see a special edition of The Witcher 3 at some point in the future. This will likely be at some point in 2020, now that the majority, if not all, of the games for the early access release of Google Stadia have been made available for gamers on the Stadia Store.
The Witcher 3 has been made and developed by CD Projekt Red, and this is quite an important consideration; CD Projekt Red have already shown their support for the Google Stadia platform with their announcement of Cyberpunk for Google Stadia next year.
By this logic, it thusly seems likely that they should also consider extending the availability of the Witcher 3 to the Stadia store as well at some point in the upcoming months.
