It was announced recently that the Vice President for Stadia, Phil Harrison, will be the newest member of the advisory board for The Game Awards. He will be joining a number of other high-profile figures from the gaming industry, including Hideo Kojima, the founder of Kojima productions; Shawn Layden, the chairman for Sony Interactive Entertainment Worldwide Studios; CEO for Ubisoft, Yves Guillemot; and the head of Xbox, Phil Spencer.
The Game Awards have commented that, “Phil’s deep experience in this industry over many decades, not to mention his current role at Google, make him an invaluable addition as we head into our fifth-anniversary show later this year.”
In the past, Harrison had worked for both Xbox and Microsoft, until now settling for working with Google on the Stadia project. Experience is clearly on his side, and we look forward to seeing what he has managed to achieve with Stadia at its release, later on in the year.
